Almost 90% there

Painting again? Yes. And if I ever paint another wall it will be too soon. My mom, Honey and Angel applied the second coat to the dining room. With that, the main living area was finished, almost. Yesterday we picked up our special order ceiling paint from Bayside, and hopefully I'll get around to it this coming weekend.

Our parents really came through for us this past week. Honey's parents went to town on the flooring. Mom laid out the padding while we calculated the cuts and tapped in the planks. Honey and I could have taken the easy route and divided each room in to it's own area, but we decided to make it one continuous floor throughout the upstairs area. Meanwhile, my dad was giving the yard some much needed attention. What once resembled a jungle, is now a line of palm trees. We knew that there were limes, lemons and palm trees.. but my dad discovered a hidden bamboo patch and a rose bush that required pruning. I'll post before/after pictures of the yard soon.

Having family over to help with work is great.. all they need is food!

With the sun setting around 4:00p every day, it's hard for us to see the house in daylight. Yesterday, after picking up the corgis, we headed to Bravado to soak in all that's been done so far before nightfall. Everything looks great and it's nice to see  things coming to fruition. Honey did come to realize one thing though, she hates the sound of corgis walking on laminate! The incessant tapping of their nails was enough to drive her up the walls! Hopefully things will quiet down once we get furniture moved in.

Floors are coming together nicely.
